About Sakn and Acceptance of These Terms

Sakn is an early-stage digital rental marketplace operated in Egypt under the Sakn brand.

Sakn helps users discover and advertise homes, apartments, rooms, studios, villas, chalets, offices, and other properties available for rent.

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Sakn mobile application, saknapp.com, and any related websites, features, support channels, and marketplace services.

By creating an account, publishing a listing, contacting another user, or otherwise using Sakn, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and User Accounts

You must be legally capable of using the service and entering into any rental-related arrangements you choose to make.

Users under 18 may use Sakn only with the appropriate involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.

You must provide accurate, complete, and current account information and update it when necessary.

You are responsible for keeping your password, verification codes, device access, and account credentials secure.

Platform Role and No Agency Relationship

Sakn provides technology that helps renters and property owners find and communicate with each other.

Unless Sakn expressly states otherwise in writing for a specific service, Sakn is not the owner, landlord, tenant, property manager, agent, broker, guarantor, or legal representative of any user or listed property.

Sakn is not a party to any property viewing, negotiation, reservation, rental contract, payment, deposit, handover, repair arrangement, or dispute between users.

No employment, partnership, agency, joint venture, fiduciary, or representation relationship is created between Sakn and any user.

Property Listings and Authority to Rent

Property owners and authorized advertisers are solely responsible for ensuring that they have the legal right and authority to advertise and rent each listed property.

Listings must be accurate, lawful, current, and not misleading, and should clearly describe the price, property type, location, availability, amenities, rules, and important rental conditions.

Users must not publish properties that are unavailable, fictitious, unlawfully offered, duplicated, or advertised without the required authority.

Publishing a listing does not mean that Sakn has inspected, verified, approved, endorsed, or guaranteed the property or the person advertising it.

Responsibilities of Property Owners

Property owners must promptly update or remove a listing when its price, availability, condition, photos, amenities, rules, or other important information changes.

Owners are responsible for rental contracts, taxes, permits, utility arrangements, building requirements, handover conditions, repairs, and commitments made to renters.

Owners must not use false prices, misleading photos, hidden mandatory charges, discriminatory conditions, or inaccurate property information.

Owners must respond honestly to reasonable questions about the property and must not impersonate another owner, representative, or business.

Responsibilities of Renters

Renters are responsible for reviewing property details, asking relevant questions, arranging safe viewings, checking documents, and deciding whether a property is suitable.

Before making a commitment, renters should verify the identity and authority of the person offering the property, the property condition, the rental price, deposit, contract terms, utilities, and any additional charges.

Renters should not transfer money, pay a deposit, or provide sensitive documents until they are satisfied with the property, the other party, and the written agreement.

Renters must communicate respectfully, provide genuine information, and attend or cancel confirmed appointments responsibly.

Verification and Accuracy of Information

Listing information is generally supplied by users and may be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or changed without notice.

Sakn may use reasonable checks, moderation tools, reports, badges, or verification indicators, but these measures do not guarantee identity, ownership, authority, property condition, legality, safety, or accuracy.

A badge, label, recommendation, ranking, or verification status does not replace the user's own checks and professional or legal advice where appropriate.

Users remain responsible for verifying all important information before signing a contract, paying money, sharing documents, or taking possession of a property.

Viewings and Personal Safety

Users are responsible for taking reasonable personal-safety precautions when arranging property viewings or meeting other users.

Sakn does not supervise viewings or meetings and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, conduct, or safety of any user.

Users should report suspicious behavior, pressure to make immediate payments, requests for unusual payment methods, misleading listings, or unsafe activity.

In an emergency or suspected crime, users should contact the appropriate local authorities.

Communication Between Users

Sakn may provide messaging, inquiry, phone, email, or other communication tools to help users discuss genuine rental opportunities.

Users must not use communication features for harassment, threats, spam, unlawful marketing, impersonation, fraud, or unrelated commercial activity.

Users should not share passwords, verification codes, full payment credentials, or unnecessary sensitive personal information through Sakn.

Sakn may restrict communication features or review relevant reports and records when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, support, or enforcement.

External Payments and Rental Agreements

Unless Sakn introduces a specific in-app payment, booking, or deposit service with separate published terms, rental payments, deposits, and rental agreements take place outside Sakn.

Sakn does not receive, hold, guarantee, protect, or refund external rental payments or deposits.

Sakn is not responsible for cash payments, bank transfers, wallet transfers, external payment links, contract enforcement, property handover, repairs, refund disputes, or financial promises between users.

Users should keep written agreements, receipts, proof of payment, identity information, and copies of relevant property documents.

Paid Services and Promoted Listings

Sakn may offer subscriptions, promoted listings, featured placement, additional listing capacity, or other paid digital features.

The price, duration, benefits, renewal rules, payment method, and any applicable cancellation or refund conditions will be shown before purchase.

Paying for promotion increases visibility only and does not guarantee inquiries, viewings, rental completion, ranking duration, revenue, or any particular result.

Sakn may reject or remove a promoted listing that violates these Terms without restoring visibility, subject to any rights that cannot be excluded by law.

Artificial Intelligence Features

Sakn may provide artificial-intelligence tools to help generate descriptions, organize search requests, suggest content, moderate activity, or assist users.

Artificial-intelligence output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable and must be reviewed by the user before publication or reliance.

The user remains responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of any AI-assisted listing or content they choose to publish.

Users must not submit passwords, payment credentials, confidential documents, national identification numbers, or unnecessary sensitive personal data to AI features.

User Content and Permission to Use It

You retain ownership of content you lawfully submit to Sakn, including property photos, videos, descriptions, profile information, reviews, messages, and reports.

You confirm that you own the content or have all rights, permissions, and consents needed to upload and use it.

By submitting content, you grant Sakn a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt, display, publish, distribute, and promote that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, and market Sakn and its listings.

This license may continue for a reasonable period for backups, legal records, fraud prevention, shared listing links, and content previously distributed through the service.

Sakn Intellectual Property

The Sakn name, logo, interface, software, design, databases, written platform content, and other materials created by Sakn are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Using Sakn does not transfer ownership of any Sakn intellectual property to the user.

Users must not copy, resell, reverse engineer, reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit Sakn technology or branding except where expressly permitted in writing or allowed by law.

Users may share public listing links through the sharing features provided by Sakn.

Prohibited Use

You must not use Sakn for fraud, scams, money laundering, harassment, threats, spam, impersonation, illegal activity, or misleading property advertisements.

You must not upload content that is unlawful, false, defamatory, discriminatory, abusive, unsafe, sexually exploitative, privacy-infringing, or in violation of another person's intellectual-property rights.

You must not scrape, harvest, purchase, sell, or misuse user information or listings, except for information reasonably required for a genuine rental interaction.

You must not introduce malware, overload the service, bypass security, manipulate rankings or statistics, create deceptive accounts, or attempt unauthorized access.

You must not use automated tools to access or copy Sakn without prior written permission, except for legitimate search-engine indexing permitted by Sakn.

Reports, Moderation, and Content Removal

Users may report suspicious listings, false information, abusive behavior, fraud attempts, intellectual-property concerns, privacy issues, or unsafe activity.

Sakn may investigate reports but is not required to resolve private legal disputes or determine ownership rights between users.

Sakn may edit, reject, hide, reduce the visibility of, suspend, archive, or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, enforce these Terms, or maintain marketplace quality.

Sakn may preserve relevant information where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal requests, complaints, or dispute review.

Account Restrictions and Termination

Sakn may warn, restrict, suspend, or close an account that violates these Terms, creates legal or security risk, misuses the marketplace, repeatedly receives credible reports, or harms other users.

Sakn may take urgent action without advance notice where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, illegal content, user safety, or legal obligations.

Users may stop using Sakn and request account deletion through the available app or support channels.

Account closure does not cancel obligations, payments, disputes, contracts, or liabilities created between users outside Sakn.

Third-Party Services and Links

Sakn may contain maps, payment tools, authentication services, analytics, advertisements, links, or other features provided by independent third parties.

Third-party services may be subject to their own terms, fees, availability, and privacy policies.

Sakn does not control and is not responsible for independent third-party websites, applications, services, advertisements, or content.

The inclusion of a link or integration does not necessarily mean that Sakn endorses or guarantees the third party.

Service Availability and Changes

Sakn may add, remove, test, restrict, or change features and may temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, security, technical problems, legal requirements, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Sakn does not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device.

Sakn may discontinue part or all of a free feature after taking reasonable steps to communicate material changes where appropriate.

Users are responsible for maintaining suitable devices, internet access, and current application versions.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Responsibility

Sakn provides a technology marketplace and does not control every user, property, listing, viewing, communication, negotiation, payment, or rental agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, Sakn is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate user content, property condition, ownership disputes, unavailable properties, user conduct, external payments, failed negotiations, or agreements made outside Sakn.

To the extent permitted by law, Sakn is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that were not reasonably caused by Sakn's own breach.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or user rights where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including mandatory consumer and data-protection rights.

User Responsibility and General Legal Provisions

Users remain responsible for their own conduct, content, listings, agreements, payments, legal compliance, and interactions with other users.

A user may be responsible for losses, claims, or expenses caused by that user's fraud, unlawful conduct, infringement of rights, unauthorized listing, or material violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Sakn's decision not to immediately enforce a provision does not mean that Sakn permanently waives its right to enforce it later.

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Governing Law, Complaints, and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Users should first contact Sakn at contact@saknapp.com so that the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved informally.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the competent Egyptian courts, subject to any mandatory jurisdiction or consumer-protection rights established by law.

Nothing in this section prevents a user from contacting a competent regulator, consumer-protection body, law-enforcement authority, or court where legally permitted.

Changes to These Terms

Sakn may update these Terms to reflect changes to features, paid services, safety practices, service providers, legal requirements, or business operations.

When a change is material, Sakn will take reasonable steps to notify users through the application, website, email, or another appropriate channel.

The version and effective date published through Sakn identify the current Terms.

Where required by law, Sakn will request renewed acceptance before applying material changes.

Please provide enough information to help us understand the issue, but do not send passwords, verification codes, full payment credentials, or unnecessary sensitive documents.

Sakn will review requests and respond through the available support channels in accordance with applicable law.
